Disciplines
At the 54th World Roller Figure Skating Championships, where the Juniors as well as the Seniors performed, winners were awarded in ten disciplines:
Artistic Skating - Figures
In the Figures, the skaters will need to perform the presented figures at the right tempo and with high precision. There are altogether four groups with each four figures. One of these groups must be performed at the World Championship, the selection of which will be decided by a draw, also deciding the direction. This discipline is very demanding:

Free Skating
As with ice figure skating, Free Skating involves jumps, pirouettes and dance configurations as an adjoining element. The decision of who will qualify to start in the Long Free Skating Heat in which competition level and who has any chance
at receiving the title of World Champion is decided as early as the short Free Skating Heat. The ten best skaters in the respective heats will start in the A-final - one of the highlights at the World Roller Figure Skating Championships. Both the technical performance and artistic arrangement of the Free Skating heats will be given marks.
Artistic Skating - Combination
An overall score is calculated with the results of the Figures and Free Skating heats. This makes up the results of the combination - requiring no additional efforts on the floor. The winners can look forward to a further medal and an entry in the Championship annals.
Artistic Skating - Pairs
Pairs Skating, in which the teams are made up of one woman and one man is also a known discipline from Figure Skating. Jumps, pirouettes and dance elements are just as much tricks of the trade as are lifts, pair skating balances, death spirals, and toss jumps, typical elements in the interplay of the partners. Those pairs delivering the best synchronized and most faultless performance to the judges (2:30 min for Juniors / 2:45 min for Seniors) have the greatest chances of getting the title. The judges give marks as well for creativeness and technical performance of the elements in accordance with the level of difficulty.
