Freiburg - a city where everything is close at hand

The well-structured local public transport means that everything is easy to get to in Freiburg. Both of the world championship venues and the hotels are best reached via bus or rail.

By bus and rail

World championship venue Schauenberghalle/FT-Sportpark
can easily be reached by taking the number 1 tram from the central railway station in the direction of Littenweiler, as far as the stop at Hasemannstraße. From there it is a 250-metre walk down Hasemannstraße to the Schauenberghalle world championship venue.

World championship venue Messe Freiburg
The tram lines 1, 3 and 5 all go to the main railway station. From there take the number 11 bus in the direction of the Messe (exhibition and conference centre) to the Messe Freiburg world championship venue. In addition, Messe Freiburg can also be reached by taking the regional train (Breisgau S-Bahn) from the main station in the direction of Breisach as far as "Messe". From here is it just a short walk to the world championship venue.

By car

Leave the A5 motorway at the "Freiburg Mitte" exit and follow the B31 in the direction of Donaueschingen as far as the tunnel. Before the tunnel, the Schwarzwaldstraße branches off to the left. Follow the road in the direction of the football stadium and turn left approximately 400 metres before the stadium into the FT-Sportpark. If arriving from the east (Schwarzwald/Dreisamtal) the Kappel/Littenweiler turnoff before the tunnel leads directly to the world championship venue. Turn right at the first big crossroads with traffic lights into Heinrich-Heine-Straße. At the next fork turn left into Schwarzwaldstraße and follow the road until you reach number 181 on the right hand side.

Messe Freiburg is well sign-posted and is easy to find either when leaving the A5 motorway at the "Freiburg Mitte" exit or via the B31 from the east.
